Analytical procedures are presented for determining displacements and forces in two-way network of prestressed cables subjected to static, out-of-plane loadings; walk-through method is used to solve governing difference equation for statically determinate net; iteration procedure which utilizes walk-through method is introduced for analysis of indeterminate networks in which nonlinear effects cannot be neglected; rapid convergence is obtained for variety of conditions; numerical examples illustrate advantage of procedure; single computer program with only minor changes can be used to solve various analysis and design problems.
