Yielding in framed structures under dynamic loads
Force-displacement relations are derived for element of framed structure, incorporating effects of inelastic interactions; it is shown that one-dimensional elastic-perfectly-plastic force-displacement relationship is degenerate case of these relations; application of relations to derive equations of motion of framed structures is discussed and illustrated for simple space-frame; dynamic response of frame is obtained and it is shown that inelastic interaction between forces during yielding has significant effect on response.
