Some aspects of structural design of tall buildings
Method developed to analyze shear wall and rigid frame combinations in tall buildings subjected to co-planar horizontal forces; method is applicable only to shear walls acting in conjunction with and connected by brace beams to frames consisting of not more than one column each side; deformations are expressed in terms of slopes of rotations for reason that they are more readily calculated and provide basis for rapid convergence method; procedure for relaxation of vertical restraints to columns; example applied to frame described is given.
