Daily streamflow simulation
Daily multiple-station streamflow simulator is developed using first order Markov chain and regression analysis techniques; historical flow records of two gaging stations on Calapooia River in Oregon are analyzed and hydrographs rearranged to reduce observed variations of flow within any particular day and between each day; daily flows are simulated on basis of statistical properties of rearranged flows; dampening factor is contained in simulator to produce nonhistoric flow sequences with statistical distributions similar to historic distributions for annual flows, maximum 1-, 3-, and 10-day average flows and minimum 1-, 7-, 30- and 120-day average flows.
