Time dependent deformation of normally consolidated clays and peats
Simple model based on rate process theory is proposed for behavior of soil skeleton in one-dimensional compression, which is compatible with both L.Bjerrum, and N.D.Lea and C.O.Brawner treatments of secondary consolidation; model is integrated to give complete solution for continuous primary and secondary consolidation; predicted settlement-time and pore pressure-time behavior appeared to be in agreement with experiment.
