Compressibility of gravel under condition of repeated loading
Behavior of road subgrade gravel layers subjected to rolling loads was studied by applying repeated pulsating load to sample in triaxial test apparatus; statical collapse load was determined in triaxial test at constant deformation velocity; deformations and volume changes were determined as functions of number of load variation; dependence of these parameters on lateral pressure and degree of compaction, as well as changes in granulation of tested material caused by grain crushing.
