Simple method of analysis is presented for torsionally loaded perforated shafts; internal forces, twist and period of free torsional vibrations are found to depend on single, dimensionless, parameter, which is denoted as torsional stiffness parameter; use of dimensionless coefficients makes it possible to find general solution and to express it in explicit form; it is recognized that there exists complete mathematical analogy between torsionally loaded shaft and laterally loaded shear wall.
