Effect of temperature drop through thickness of strip on uniformity of deformation
Study conducted on laboratory mill showed that in order to make depth and transverse deformations over section of strip more uniformly distributed, it should be rolled with surface temperature of 1000 C and mean temperature gradient of 1 degree/mm; if surface temperature is 1100 C, difference between it and temperatures in inner layers in strip has less effect on uniformity of deformation over cross section.
