Some deformation characteristics of lime-stabilized clay
Montmorillonitic clay was stabilized with 10% lime, molded at relatively high water contents, cured for 2 and 5 wk, and tested with repeated loading in triaxial compression under various confining pressures and under drained and undrained conditions to investigate effect of deviator stress and confining pressure on vertical strains and resilient modulus; each sample was tested at successively increasing deviator stresses; model describing relationships between resilient modulus and principal stress ratio at various water contents is presented.
