Pavement evaluation techniques in maintenance management
Origin and nature of pavement evaluation techniques are described; techniques consist of utilizing Present Serviceability Index (PSI) concepts and pavement performance curves developed during AASHO Road Test in Ottawa, Ill; devices available to measure pavement profile; it is shown how with pavement service life curves computed for each significant contiguous segment of roadway system it is possible to identify year in which pavement segment can be expected to reach its minimum acceptable PSI value.
