Development of flexible pavement performance equation
New York reverted to procedure used at AASHO Road Test and in Purdue University correlation study -- obtaining subjective ratings from panel of persons for group of pavements, and correlating these with measured variables to obtain equation; 34 panelists were asked to rate 19 pavements on 0 to 5 scale; several regression analyses were run, and equations obtained with varying mathematical forms of measured variables; equation representing highest degree of correlation was selected for use in analyzing New York State's flexible pavements.
