Theoretical asphaltic concrete equivalences
Equivalences were calculated on continuous hourly or fourth-hourly basis for 245-day period; equivalence was defined as that thickness of base necessary to replace 1 in. of surfacing for equal deflection; deflections were calculated using layer elastic theory and results of static and dynamic laboratory tests of pavement materials in frequency domain; materials investigated were two asphaltic concrete surfacings and three asphaltic concrete bases; effect of testing specimens with height to diameter ratios of less than two was investigated.
