Time variable thermal stresses in reservoir structure; in framework of thin-walled cylindrical reservoirs, thus in relation to arch dam design, static conditions due to external temperature variations as function of elevation and time are calculated for reservoirs, whose wall thickness varies parabolically with height; it is assuming that wall temperature variation obeys sinusoidal law, mean value of oscillation being also parabolically dependent of height; numerical example illustrates calculations.
