Refined theory for reinforced concrete slabs
Flexural cracking of concrete causes elongation of middle surface, where this is restrained, direct (arching) forces are produced which significantly add to stiffness and load capacity of slab; case of completely restrained, square internal panel of flat plate structure is considered in particular, and approximate solution obtained.
