Some recent topics in pre-stressed concrete construction
Recently constructed interesting structures in prestressed concrete are described, with special attention to development of prestressed concrete pressure vessels in nuclear technology, which have been recently constructed in France and England; diagrams illustrate pressure vessel and explain why prestressed concrete is considered more adequate than steel when given volume is exceeded; details of highway bridge constructed by cantilever method using precast concrete blocks.
