Potentiality of ausform steels for prestressing
New process designed to extend limits of usefulness of conventionally quenched and tempered martensitic steels by thermal-mechanical treatment; processing variables of alloy composition, deformation, and deformation temperature are discussed and response of several proprietary alloys to this thermal-mechanical treatment is shown; factors pertinent to potential use of ausform steels for prestressing considered.
