High water-table poses problems in clay-lined canal construction
Clay-lined 30-ft-wide, 11-mi-long channel connecting Willard and Slaterville diversion dams in northern Utah will act as gravity flow canal in wet months, to carry excess water from Weber River to Willard Dam, and in dry months will carry water back from reservoir to irrigate farmland to south; scrapers and draglines used for construction of canal and extensive subdrain system to prevent rupturing of clay lining described.
