Concrete girder bridge under construction in West Germany will carry autobahn over River Rhine at Bendorf, 5 mi north of Coblenz; main bridge is 7-span continuous structure with central span of 682 ft and with spans of 233, 145 and 141 ft on each side; superstructure comprises 2 structurally independent box-girders; approach viaduct, which crosses flood plain and railway sidings, comprises 2 continuous box-girders carried on several piers; Dywidag system of prestressing and cantilever method of construction were adopted.
