Design of motorway bridges for repetitive construction
Attempt is made to summarize arguments for and against standardization of highway bridges and to indicate where it can usefully be achieved; fine and economical bridges can be designed in reinforced or prestressed concrete, in situ or precast, or structural steelwork, but important thing is to produce careful and refined prototype designs, and build them by carefully thought-out methods using carefully selected plant.
