Stresses and deformations of slender-web steel girders
In order to investigate web plate behavior in welded steel plate girders under post-critical load, initial deflection and deformation of buckled webs were determined by photogrammetric methods, and stress distribution was computed; effect of flange flexural rigidity on type and amplitude of buckling waves was investigated, and optimum rigidity was determined; to calculate slender-web plate deformation, systems of cubic equations were set up for load types occurring frequently in praxis.
