Shear strength of reinforced concrete frame members without web reinforcement
Experimental and analytical studies show that strength is affected by shear through formation of diagonal tension cracks; if percentage of longitudinal reinforcement is small or shear span is very long, member without web reinforcement fails in flexure without prior formation of diagonal tension cracks.
