Allowable settlements of buildings
Survey of existing data on 98 buildings, of which 58 suffered no damage and 40 were damaged, in varying degree, due to settlements; it has been possible to establish tentative values for damage limits in terms of angular distortion and of maximum and differential settlements; allowable settlements and distortions suggested as basis for design. (See also - discussion p 768-84)
