Bridge has 40-ft concrete spans
When timber pile approaches to railroad truss bridge between Yuba City and Marysville, Calif, were washed out it was decided to replace them with precast concrete pile and ballast deck structure; span length of 40 ft required slabs 4 ft deep and weighing 52 tons; handling slabs of this weight was solved by use of special gantry.
