Drives shotcrete-encased piles
Because of severe marine borer infestation in pile foundations of two of its waterfront piers, Southern has recently redriven number of piles, pre-jacketed with concrete, in foundations; piles were preframed and given creosote treatment, following which they were jacketed with reinforced shotcrete, before being driven, to protect them against both teredo and limnoria; method employed is described.
