Construction details of Diesel and fuel-oil storage and distribution system on Island of Midway to supply U S submarine fleet; four Diesel tanks (13,500-bbl capacity) and fuel oil tanks (27,000-bbl capacity) were built underground on 15-in. reinforced concrete bases respectively 88 ft and 100 ft in diam; concrete underground pumphouses and distribution piping system also described.
