Notes on type of foundation used by one Pacific Coast drilling contractor; individual or unit section consists of paired channel bases; these two channels are held rigidly by means of channel spacers, welded to skid members just behind shoe section; these base units are slid into place on timber or concrete subbase; depending upon ground-bearing conditions at site, and ranged to provide any desired degree of support; one advantage is interchangeability of units.
