Estimation by colour of combustible content of mine road dusts
At colliery in North Staffordshire, limestone dust is used to treat underground roadways; tests were made with mine road dusts of known composition; for accuracy and ease of comparison, dusts must be viewed under similar conditions in good light, they must be in close proximity, and surface of dust must be flat; testing frame; limitations of method; results; effect of moisture on color of dusts.
