Investigations on wear and seizure resistance of friction-hardened steel pairs
Wear and seizure behavior of steel friction surfaces with punctiform or network-shaped cementite distribution is investigated; in latter case resistance to wear and seizure is found to be reduced because of weakening of intergranular forces due to brittleness of cementite; when diesel oil is used as lubricant, wear resistance is not influenced by pattern of cementite distribution.
