Inflow hydrographs from large unconfined aquifers
General method is presented for predicting subsurface lateral inflow hydrograph from large unconfined aquifers into adjacent streams; it is based on grouping pertinent variables into dimensionless parameters; relationships between these parameters were obtained experimentally; use was made of analogy between flow of water through saturated porous medium and flow of viscous fluid in Hele-Shaw model; experimental results verified applicability of proposed method; comparison is presented between experimental results and some of approximate solutions available in literature.
