Choice of roof arch profile is discussed; grapho-analytical method of determining distribution and magnitude of elastic forces acting on roof is presented which accounts for facing stiffness, friction between facing and rocks, passive rock resistance forces (restoring forces), and rock behavior under lining contact pressure.
