A platform for research: civil engineering, architecture and urbanism
Systematic approach is presented for finding optimum design for wide class of elastic structures; cutting plane method developed for nonlinear operations research problems is used, and optimization of structural design can be transformed into series of linear programming problems; two examples are used as illustrations, including truss and rigid frame each subjected to two distinct load conditions.
