Method is presented for solving stability problem of inelastic frame structures in presence of primary moments; method consists of iterative numerical technique that is suitable for digital computer usage to plot nonlinear load vs deflection curve of structure; detailed analysis is presented for finding critical load of single story rectangular steel frame that buckles in lateral direction; numerical results are given for frames with different geometry, vertical load pattern, lateral force, and member cross section.
