Maximum probable floods on Pennsylvania streams
Method, with supporting data, for estimating maximum probable flood from drainage areas of 100 to 6000 sq mi; maximum storm is derived from study of records of past storms in Eastern United States; flood hydrographs caused by 100% run-off from this storm; correcting hydrographs to give corresponding flow from actual watershed; comparison of maximum flood peaks derived from storm data with largest recorded floods. (See also - discussion n 10 Dec p 1849-57)
