Tests of salt as substitute for rock dust in prevention of coal-dust explosions in mines
In search by Safety in Mine Research Board, several rock dusts and numerous inorganic materials were tested; one compound investigated was common salt; paper describes work at Bureau's Experimental coal mine, undertaken to check British findings; results agree qualitatively but not quantitatively, showing lower relative effectiveness. (See also U S Bur Mines -- Report Investigation n 3529 July 1940 16 p)
