Reconstruction of Katugastota bridge, Ceylon
Original bridge consisted of three clear spans, with two masonry piers, each 14 ft wide at top; illustrated description of scheme for reconstruction; new main steel under-girders are 64 ft long overall; departure from ordinary Warren girder form made by introduction of vertical members; joints in girders so arranged as to permit fabricated lengths to be sent to site and lifted and riveted in position from below road decking.
