Combustible properties of aircraft cabin materials
Measurements on smoke and gases produced by 141 materials currently used or considered for future use in aircraft interiors; materials studied consisted of fabrics, sheet and laminate siding materials, rugs, pads, and materials used for ceiling and bulkhead insulation; tests were conducted in smoke test chamber; thermal radiation exposure of 2.2 Btu/sec sq ft was applied normal to exterior surface of nominal 3×3 in. specimen; smoke levels were determined by measuring progressive attenuation of light beam that was passed through smoke in closed chamber.
