Effect of fatigue and strain ageing on transition temperature of mild steel
Effect of fatigue stressing in plastic range and at slow strain rates; transition temperature is first raised after 10 cycles and then lowered after 100 cycles of stress; strain aging raises transition temperature at both endurances; maximum danger of inducing brittle fracture in mild steel under these conditions will therefore occur early in fatigue life of material.
