In 29 mo, Cubitts-Fitzpatrick-Shand have completed Hyde Park/Marble Arch road improvement; scheme's major detail, Hyde Park Corner underpass, was opened to traffic in October; Italian Icos Veder process of trench wall stabilization was adopted to build cut-and-cover tunnels; 8 centrifugal fans keep tunnels free from carbon monoxide; information is also given on work at street level and on lighting and surfacing methods used for entire project.
