A platform for research: civil engineering, architecture and urbanism
Some aspects of design and construction of research track for road research laboratory
Track was built incorporating necessary features on site that could house laboratory as whole; design curve "B" for flexible roads was considered appropriate; flexible construction was specified for most of track because research requirements called for jointless surface that could easily be changed; banked bend designed to permit one-way traffic to enter long straight at 60 mph; flexible track; service pillars; track wetting system; vehicle detection, guidance and control system.
