Karachi Harbour-east Wharves -- Reconstruction of quay
Thirteen deep water berths and one shallower berth, aggregating in length 6772 ft, were rebuilt on eastern side of Karachi Harbour to replace open piled structures which suffered serious deterioration; new berths were constructed in concrete, with closed berthing face set forward from old line, and back-filled with sand; use of large I-section prestressed concrete pile units weighing about 50 tons each.
