Building 24 berth terminal on 700 acre marshland for Elizabeth Port Authority Pier project involved dredging 14 MM cu yd of material for channel; ocean sand for fill was excavated, transported and fed to pipelines by hopper dredge; warehouse foundations compacted in 2 in. lifts; piles for wharf were protected by crushed stone dikes; cap and deck forms were used to permit concrete work when tides covered piles.
