Suspension principle used in bridge construction is being applied to hold up paper machine room roof at Cartiere Burgo, in Mantova, Italy; this completely eliminates all interior vertical roof supports; machine will have wire width of 304 in., wire length of 154 ft 5 in., and top design speed of 3000 fpm; information on pulp supply and stock preparation, photograph of mill model, and dimensional open sketch of machine and suspension roof arrangement are included.
