Stress analysis of HNPF (Hallam Nuclear Power Facility) loading-face shield
Complex configuration and nonhomogeneous distribution of construction materials make it necessary to complement theoretical stress analysis by experimental model studies; maximum stresses in loading-face-shield concrete and steel were determined and factors of safety calculated; results of analysis indicate that shield will meet service requirements.
