Heering Rose was built for firm of Heering as open-closed shelterdecker at Elsinore shipyard; hull is cherry red and superstructure light green; length oa 329 ft 2 in., molded breadth 52 ft, draft 22 ft 11-1/2 in., gross as closed shelterdecker 4580 tons, grain capacity 281,000 cu ft and bale 258,000 cu ft; 6-cyl Elsinore-B and W engine of about 4200 bhp gives ship speed of 15 knots loaded as open shelterdecker.
