Semiquinone cation adsorption on montmorillonite as function of surface acidity
Dihydrochlorides of benzidine, p-phenylenediamine, and N,N-dimethyl-p-phenylenediamine in aqueous solution have been used with centrifuged Wyoming bentonite and centrifuged hectorite clay, each suspended in various buffed solutions, to study pH effect and quantity and nature of semiquinones formed.
