Melting alloys by Hopkins process
In consumable electrode technique described, originated by R.K. Hopkins of Firth-Sterling, flux which protects alloy as it melts and progressively solidifies also cleanses material being remelted; composition of resulting product can be regulated within limits by adding alloying elements; consistent mechanical properties obtained. (p 86-89, 116, 118, 120, 123)
