Application of automatic traffic recorder data in highway planning
Analysis of data furnished by automatic traffic recorders used in 46 states to obtain continuous records of traffic flow at more than 500 locations throughout United States, showing extremely wide variation in ratios between traffic for maximum days or hours and average annual daily traffic; use of traffic volumes during peak hours for design of highways and for estimating future peak traffic volumes.
