Making use of local aggregates for Kansas bituminous mats
Use of specialized gradation specifications, based on laboratory tests, have produced substantial savings in construction costs; composed of mixtures of aggregates and asphaltic materials, bituminous mats produce wearing courses varying from light surfaces less than 1 in. thick, up to heavy surfaces having thickness of 3 or 4 in., or even more.
