Mine at Sabie in Eastern Transvaal is in heavy rainfall area; reef occurs in dolomites; at times, 48 tons of water pumped for every ton of rock hoisted; details of driving 12,898 ft of main drainage tunnel and additional work making total of 16,577 ft; blasting difficulties, due to flow of water at high pressure from drilled holes; concreting; ventilation.
