Mechanism of load loss in roof bolts
Laboratory research was conducted on time-dependent behavior of roof bolt anchorage; results of laboratory tests utilizing various shells indicate that size, shape and number of serrations have considerable effect on stresses in rock at anchorage site; use of dial gages to measure plug and leaf displacements proved conclusively that bleed-off can be attributed to deterioration of rock at anchorage site.
